For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. -Hebrews 4:15
The History of the HIV/AIDS Ministry of Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church
God led Bishop Alfred A. Owens, Jr. to organize and implement a ministry that would respond to the great need that exists in our church community as a result of the pandemic of HIV and AIDS. Since 1990, we have impressed upon our church family the importance of providing social services. We began by providing voluntary caregiver assistance to individuals infected with, and affected by, HIV and AIDS that were without adequate support. Over the years we have evolved from a single focused Ministry of compassion and care giving to our present focus of education and prevention, which includes a variety of organized services.
