Bishop Terrence Cedric Brown, D.Min. is a native North Carolinian. At a young age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He received his initial spiritual training at Pelt Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. He acknowledged his call to the preaching ministry in 1988 and in May 1998 received his first ministerial license in The Mt. Calvary Holy Church of America, Inc (MCHC). One year later, he was ordained an Elder. In August 2008, he was elevated to the office of bishop in the Mount Calvary Holy Church, Inc.
In 1986, Bishop Brown received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina A & T State University. In May 2001, he was received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Human Services from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In May 2008, he earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio with a concentration in Leadership Development and Organization Dynamics.
Over the past twenty years he has been blessed to serve under the dynamic leadership of Archbishop Alfred A. Owens Jr, D.Min., Pastor and International First Lady Susie C. Owens, MAR, Co-Pastor. Bishop Brown has faithfully served the congregation of Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church (GMCHC), a progressive, inner-city church with an adult membership of more than 7,000. In recognition of his loyalty and diligence to the work of the ministry, in 2000 he was appointed as the Associate Pastor. He is responsible for handling many of the administrative responsibilities of the church which allows the senior pastors to focus their attention in other areas. Also, he is directly responsible for providing oversight to the 61+ church ministries and directors.
Bishop Brown is also a gifted teacher who teaches, along with his wife, Rev. Bobette Brown, a mid-week bible study. He also serves as an instructor for Calvary Bible Institute, an accredited Bible school that provides Christian education and preparation for persons desiring to effectively function in the Body of Christ. Further, he serves as the director of the Men’s Ministry. Bishop Brown is responsible for two significant roles within The Mt. Calvary Holy Church of America, Inc. He counts it an honor and a privilege to serve as the newly appointed 2nd Vice Bishop within Mt. Calvary Holy Church of America, Inc. and Bishop over the Florida District. Recently, he was honored to be appointed Dean of Adjutant’s Academy of the Joint College of African-American Pentecostal Bishops.
He has been serving in full-time ministry since 1994. He began his career with GMCHC as the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor. However, through his dedication and outstanding work performance, he was promoted to a managerial position. In this capacity as an executive manager, he oversees the directors for the external entities of GMCHC. His area of oversight includes: the GMC Bookstore, Calvary Healthcare, Calvary’s Alternative to Alcohol and Drug Addiction Center; the Archbishop Alfred A. Owens, Jr. Family Life Community Center, the Media department, Pastoral Counseling, and Calvary Bible Institute.
Bishop Brown’s partner in marriage and ministry is his wife of over 20 years, Rev. Bobette D. Greene Brown. They are the proud parents of two sons – Joshua and Caleb.
